Benjamin M. Schwartz, MD, FACOG, FACS
Medical Director, Island Gynecologic Oncology

Dr. Benjamin Schwartz is a specialist in Gynecologic Oncology and Minimally Invasive Surgery. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a
Fellow in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American College
of Surgeons.

Dr. Schwartz serves as Attending in Gynecologic Oncology at Good Samaritan Hospital, Southside Hospital, North Shore University Hospital at Plainview and Syosset, New Island Hospital, St. Charles Hospital, Mather Hospital, Nassau University Medical Center, St. Catherine's of Siena, and Brookhaven Hospital. After graduating from Dartmouth College, he obtained his medical degree from the George Washington University. He then completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and served as Administrative Chief Resident. During his residency, Dr. Schwartz completed a Galloway Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, NY. He then completed subspecialty training in a three year fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Schwartz currently serves as the Director of Gynecologic Oncology at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center. A leader in the field of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Oncology, he is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists' Division of Gynecologic Oncology. He is also certified as an "Advanced Laparoscopist" by the Accreditation Council for Gynecologic Endoscopy. Dr. Schwartz is also a leader in the field of chemotherapy for gynecological cancers and served on the Medical Oncology Committee of the Gynecologic Oncology Group, a national collaborative group that studies experimental treatments for gynecological cancers.
